14 October 2024 – Parcent to Alcalali

22 walking today

This included Ann and Peter

They belonged to the old Monday Group

We last walked with them in 2017

Lovely to meet up and catch up again

We were also joined by Elizabeth on her first walk with the group

The temperatures have finally dropped

So we changed the start time to a more civilised 1000

It was very nice to have an extra hour in bed

It was also much easier walking

It was cloudy and even tried to rain once

Which looks even worse in the photographs

Last Tuesday this tree was blown down at the Ermita

We were impressed to find it had already been cut up and removed

Even though the stump and the jagged broken part were left intact

It was posted on Alcalali Connect Facebook last week

I was quite surprised that most of the group were unaware of it

Even though we had been there just the day before it was blown down

As we neared Parcent Tina realised that she had left her walking stick at the Ermita

Earlier someone else had left a stick behind after our banana break

Perhaps this is a feature of “more mature walking groups”

Tina went back to get the stick, and missed the after walk drink

I think it would have joined the drinks and drove back afterwards to find the stick

I often feel that the drink at the end is the best part of the walk

And Parcent cooperativa is our favourite “watering holes”

At least until we have to walk up the hill to get home when we finish

Temperature – 17-22c

Time Taken – 3 hours

Distance – 9 km
